Plattsburgh, NY- The New York State Public Service Commission recently awarded both PrimeLink and parent company Champlain Telephone Company, with their annual commendation for excellence in service quality to consumers during 2011.
“This commendation reflects the commitment of both companies to overall service quality and dedication to our customers,” said Trent Trahan, CEO and President of Champlain Telephone Company. “This is definitely a tribute to the PrimeLink and Champlain Telephone employees who work hard to maintain our standard of excellence.”
This year the PSC evaluated 53 incumbent carriers and 18 competitive local exchange carriers operating in New York State. Champlain Telephone is one of the incumbent carriers and PrimeLink is one of the competitive local exchange carriers that were recommended for the commendation. Commendations are based on three metrics, Customer Trouble Report Rate and Complaint Rate, and achievement of incentive plan targets on these two measures, where applicable. PrimeLink and Champlain Telephone each scored 100% on it Customer Trouble Report Rate which reflects performance results in its central office operations, and maintained a 0.00 PSC Complaint Rate score.
The NYS Public Service Commission has a broad mandate to ensure that all New Yorkers have access to reliable and low-cost utility services. The Commission regulates the state’s electric, gas, steam, telecommunications, and water utilities. They also oversee the cable industry. The Commission is charged by law with responsibility for setting rates and ensuring that adequate service is provided by New York’s utilities.
